1. Information stored on your device
Your study progress, mock exam scores, saved questions, failed questions, chosen licence category and app settings (such as dark mode) are saved in your device's local storage. This information never leaves your phone, is not transmitted to us, and is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
2. Information we collect ourselves
None. We operate no servers, no accounts and no analytics of our own. We receive no personal data from your use of the apps.
3. Advertising
The apps are free and are funded by advertising. We use Google AdMob, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, to display banner, interstitial and app-open ads.
To deliver and measure those ads, Google and its advertising partners may collect and process:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID / AAID) | To select ads and limit how often the same ad is shown to you |
| IP address | To determine an approximate location (typically country or city level) so that ads are relevant, and to prevent fraud |
| Device and app information (device model, operating system version, app version, language) | To serve ads that render correctly on your device |
| Ad interaction data (ads shown, viewed, clicked) | To measure ad performance and detect invalid activity |
This data is collected by Google, not by us. We only ever see aggregated, anonymous reports such as the total number of ad impressions and the revenue earned. We cannot identify individual users from them.
Google's handling of this data is governed by:
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services
- AdMob and privacy
4. Your choices about advertising
Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows you a consent form the first time you open it, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive. You can accept personalised ads, or decline them — if you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your advertising ID or interests.
You may change your decision at any time. Deleting the app's data or reinstalling it will make the consent form appear again.
Resetting or deleting your advertising ID
On Android you can reset your advertising ID, or delete it entirely, at any time:
- Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads on some devices), then choose Reset advertising ID or Delete advertising ID.
Deleting the ID stops apps from receiving it, and ads become non-personalised.
5. Permissions the app requests
- Internet access — required to download advertisements. All quiz content is bundled inside the app and works offline.
- Advertising ID (
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) — declared because the AdMob SDK uses it, as described in section 3.
The apps do not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files, precise location, or any other sensitive permission.
6. Your rights under the GDPR
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is no account for us to export or erase. Regarding the data processed by Google for advertising, you have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict processing of that data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise those rights, use the consent controls described in section 4, the Android advertising ID settings, or contact Google directly through their privacy policy. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority — in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission.
7. Children
These apps are intended for people preparing for a driving theory test and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through one of our apps, please contact us and we will address it.
8. Data security and retention
All the data the apps create stays on your device, protected by your device's own security. We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. Advertising data is retained by Google according to their own retention policies.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the apps change. The revised version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the apps after a change means you accept the revised policy.
